Walk to El Arco in Cabo

Can You Walk to El Arco in Cabo? No, you cannot walk to El Arco in Cabo. The furthest you will get will be Lover’s Beach. Even that is a stretch.

One of Cabo’s most popular and recognizable landmarks is El Arco, a towering rock arch that juts out into the sea.

Visitors do wonder if they can walk to El Arco in Cabo to explore this iconic site up close. The answer is no, you cannot walk to El Arco unless you are a mountain climber, and even then, it is unlikely.

The walk involves navigating rocky terrain, uneven ground, and steep inclines, making it a challenging but rewarding experience.

The likelihood of finishing it is slim to none, and you will end the hike at Lover’s Beach.

Walking in the direction of El Arco

There isn’t an organized path to El Arco from Cabo San Lucas. However, walking the path to El Arco is a somewhat popular activity and a way to get as far as Lovers and Divorce Beaches at Land’s End

The hike is approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) return and takes about 1 to 2 hours to complete.

The path starts at Cabo Marina near Cannery Beach and takes you along the rocky coastline. You can expect breathtaking scenery of the surroundings.

From the path, you will see Cabos coastline, the rock formation, the nearby Médano beach, and Sierra del la Laguna, the mountains across the bay.

Walking toward El Arco is not for newbie hikers. Note that there is no shade along the way, so it’s best to start your walk early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the sun is less intense.  It can get hot and sunny, so be sure to bring plenty of water, a hat, and apply sunblock.

The way is unmarked, rocky, uneven, and steep in places. On occasion, you may have to jump over water on occasion. Hiking shoes or sturdy sandals are recommended.

Walking the way towards El Arco is not a popular activity. It is however a popular way to try and get there.

The path never gets crowded even during peak tourist season. However, to avoid crowds, it’s best to go early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Those surer times to enjoy the peace of the way.

Note that we use the word trail. There isn’t one.

Walking to El Arco ends at Lover’s Beach

Lovers Beach is located on the other side of the arch and is accessible by boat. This secluded beach is known for its stunning views and peaceful atmosphere, making it a popular spot for couples and travelers looking for a more serene experience.
