Exploring Cabo San Lucas: A Gateway to Lovers Beach

Cabo San Lucas is not just a spirited city in the Los Cabos Region here in Mexico. Cabo is also your starting point to one of the most secluded and stunning beaches—Lovers Beach.

This hidden gem is nestled on the Sea of Cortez and offers a perfect escape from the bustling city life.

How to Get to Lovers Beach Cabo by Water

To get to Lovers Beach, you’ll need to travel on the water, as this secluded beach is accessible only by boat.

The adventure begins at the marina in Cabo or Medano Beach across the bay, where you can choose from various water taxis that offer a quick and scenic ride to Lovers Beach.

Planning Your Visit to Lover’s Beach

Before heading out, it’s recommended that you plan your visit.

While the beach offers stunning natural beauty, it lacks facilities, so bring water, snacks, and sun protection. Also, have a return plan with your boat captain, as Lovers Beach has no permanent docks.

What to Bring for a Day at Lover’s Beach

Packing for a day at Lovers Beach means preparing for comfort and safety. Essentials include sunblock, a hat, enough water, and perhaps some snorkeling gear to explore the vibrant marine life just offshore.

Bring flip-flops, sandals, or water shoes because the sand is getting hot.

Best Times to Visit Lovers Beach

The best times to visit Lover’s Beach are early morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds and fully enjoy the tranquility of the beach.

During those times, especially in the early morning hours, the tranquility of Cabo Bay, coupled with the serene location of Lovers Beach, makes the experience very special.

At certain times of the year, wild marine animals, such as sea turtles returning to lay their eggs, may be seen on the beach.

On the way to the beach, you may see rays jumping, sea lions swimming, and many birds wandering around looking for treats in the sand.

Safety advice at Lover’s Beach

Always wear a life jacket when kayaking or jet skiing, and make sure your water taxi operator is reputable and follows safety guidelines.

When on the beach, avoid trying to climb the cliffs. There are no services on the beach, and you’ll be at the mercy of the water taxi to take you back to the marina.

Additionally, notice the boat’s density and traffic while in the water. Try to swim closer to the rocks.

How to Enjoy Lover’s Beach Without the Crowds

To enjoy Lover’s Beach without the crowds, consider visiting during the off-peak season or weekdays. Early mornings are incredibly peaceful, allowing you to have the stunning beach playa almost to yourself.
