The usual way to get to Lovers Beach in Cabo is by water taxi or boat tour from Cabo San Lucas Marina or Médano Beach. Guided kayaking and paddleboarding provide more active alternatives when the route and conditions suit your group.

Choose a Boat Departure Point
Start with the operator’s confirmed meeting point. “The marina” covers several boarding locations, so ask for the dock, office or beach landmark and the required check-in time.
If you are staying in San José del Cabo or along the Tourist Corridor, allow time to reach Cabo San Lucas. Check whether hotel transport is included. The hotel pickup and boat departure are different parts of the day.
Water Taxi or Boat Tour?
Water Taxi
A water taxi can suit a visit focused on spending time at the beach. Confirm whether the fare includes both journeys, whether there is sightseeing on the way and when the boat will return.

Shared Sightseeing Trip
Glass-bottom, clear-boat and other sightseeing trips may combine views of the beach with the Arch and nearby landmarks. Some include a landing option; others stay aboard throughout. Check the product you are buying rather than assuming a beach mention means time ashore.
Private Boat Outing
A private booking gives your group its own vessel and an opportunity to discuss the itinerary. The captain still needs to follow conditions and restrictions. Ask how a beach stop would work and whether it suits everyone’s mobility and swimming confidence.
Kayaking and Paddleboarding
Paddling across the bay offers exercise and a view of the coastline close to the water. Choose a guided outing if you need instruction or are unfamiliar with the area.
Ask about the route, flotation, supervision and whether landing is planned. A rental does not provide unrestricted access to every part of Land’s End, and wind or swell can change the return journey.
Can You Drive or Walk There?
A car can take you to a boat meeting point, but there is no road onto the beach. Our driving and parking guidance explains how to organize the land portion.
Local accounts describe informal scrambling along the rocks, but this is not a normal signed visitor path. Do not plan on a cliff scramble or swimming around rocks to complete your arrival.
Landing at the Beach
Ask the captain whether landing is available that day. There is no permanent passenger dock, and getting ashore may involve a ladder and shallow water. Follow the crew’s instructions rather than jumping out.
A sightseeing boat may still operate when a beach landing is unsuitable. Confirm what happens to your booking if time ashore is cancelled.
Plan the Return Before You Leave
- Agree on the pickup time and meeting point.
- Record the boat’s name and the operator’s contact details if available.
- Ask what to do if conditions change or the planned pickup cannot proceed.
- Allow time to reach your accommodation or a cruise ship’s tender and all-aboard deadline.
Bring water, sun protection and the supplies you need for a beach without town facilities. A clear arrival and return plan makes the visit easier to enjoy.
