Where is Chileno Bay in Los Cabos?
Chileno Bay is on the Sea of Cortez coast along the Tourist Corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. It is outside both town centers. Playa Chileno is the public beach on the bay, so “Chileno Beach,” “Playa Chileno” and “Chileno Bay Public Beach” usually refer to the same beach-day destination.

Which place name should you put into a map?
Search for “Chileno Bay Public Beach” or “Playa El Chileno” and check that the pin shows the public beach parking area. The nearby resort and private club use the Chileno Bay name too. Their entrances are not interchangeable with public beach access.
Save the destination before you leave your accommodation. Looking at the final approach in advance is more useful than relying on a general pin for the bay or assuming that any Chileno sign leads to the public entrance.
Is it in Cabo San Lucas or San José del Cabo?
Chileno is often described as a Cabo San Lucas beach, but it sits along the coastal corridor toward San José del Cabo. You need road transport from either town unless you are staying close enough to use an established local access route. It is not a beach beside the downtown Cabo marina.
From Cabo San Lucas, travel toward San José del Cabo on the coastal highway. From San José, travel toward Cabo San Lucas and follow the signed public-beach approach. Traffic and your starting point affect the journey, so check a current route rather than treating a short driving estimate as a fixed transfer time.
Finding the public entrance

Chileno and the neighboring beaches
Santa Maria Beach is nearby on the same coast, but it has its own access road and parking. Check the name on your map before leaving a vehicle or getting off a bus. A nearby coastline on a map does not establish a safe walking route between beaches.
What is separate from the public beach?
Chileno Bay Resort & Residences offers accommodation and dining beside the bay, while the private club has its own access arrangements. You do not need to stay at either to visit the public beach. Equally, visiting the beach does not give you permission to cross private grounds or use resort amenities.
