Choose a kayaking location by the route, launch and support you need, rather than a list of scenic beaches. Cabo San Lucas Bay, the Tourist Corridor and destinations farther north involve different conditions and travel. The Cabo kayaking guide provides the overall starting point.
Cabo San Lucas Bay and Land’s End
An Arch outing usually begins in Cabo San Lucas Bay and approaches the Land’s End scenery along an agreed route. Boat traffic, swell and exposure change as you move around the coast. The Arch is not an automatically calm beginner circuit, and viewing it does not require paddling underneath it.
Ask where the trip launches, how far the group paddles and what happens if someone cannot continue. A Lovers Beach landing or snorkeling stop depends on the actual itinerary and conditions. Do not turn a short bay rental into an independent trip around the Pacific side.
Santa Maria and Chileno along the corridor
These bays offer a different coastal setting from the marina and Arch. Establish which bay the outing uses and whether a second stop is reached by land transfer or paddling. Two-bay and three-bay names describe individual products, rather than one standard public route.
Choose a departure based on the real launch and pickup, not the nearest-looking hotel. Confirm the time on the water separately from transfers, briefings and snorkeling. A sheltered-looking bay still needs a current assessment of wind, swell and traffic.
San José estuary requires a separate availability check
The San José estuary kayaking guide distinguishes earlier advertised trips from current operation and permission. A quiet-looking wetland is not an open rental area. If you are offered a visit, establish the provider, authorized route and access before arranging transport.
Cabo Pulmo and La Paz-area trips
Cabo Pulmo, Balandra and other La Paz-area destinations are substantial excursions from Los Cabos. Each has its own travel, access and conservation arrangements. They are not extra stops to add casually to a short Arch outing.
Confirm the departure city, full return time and where kayaking actually occurs. If you are visiting on a cruise, allow for the ship’s required return and any tender journey. An attractive route is of little use if the transfer schedule does not fit.
Choose the route before the equipment package
The kayak rental and guided-trip guide helps compare the support arrangements. Tell the provider your group’s experience and needs, then ask about launch conditions, supervision, flotation, reboarding and alternatives if the intended route is unsuitable.
A satisfying paddle can be short. Select the location that allows a manageable outing, rather than trying to reach the largest number of landmarks.
